Pianist/Keyboardist/Arranger/Music Director Andy Roberts comes from a diverse musical background.
At 15, Roberts was already gigging with country/rock and jazz groups at local venues. The bug for performing came when he started jamming with his brothers band in their basement. After discovering Oscar Peterson and Dave Brubeck, Roberts became further inspired by the challenges of jazz. Upon receiving the Joe Zawinul scholarship, He enrolled in Berklee College of Music, Boston Massachusetts, graduating in 1989.
Andy maintains a busy schedule of performing, writing and music directing. As a freelance jazz pianist, he has had the opportunity to perform with many great musicians from the Central Pennsylvania and Philadelphia area. Also known for his keyboard work, Roberts is a seasoned rock and blues keyboardist.
Andy has been music director for The American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa. since 2009 and is the longtime music director for Timbers Dinner Theater in Mount Gretna, Pa.. He has also performed and conducted shows for Prima Theatre, Servant Stage Theatre, Allenberry Playhouse and Totem pole Theatre.
He has been music leader for Soul.Com at Good Shepherd United methodist Church since 2000.
Through all the musical diversity, Roberts approaches all music with a sense of conviction and respect of the genre. He is always involved with original projects. Two original groups, The Four Piece Quartet and New World Parade both perform Roberts’ music and arrangements.
